KNEE HIGH
After nearly six years, Grace’s debut novel is ready for pre-order. Orders will ship in early June 2026.
Carter, a young man living in New York City, is unhappy. Desperate for a change, he does the unthinkable: buys a cookie-cutter house in suburban Wisconsin near his hometown. Back in the Midwest, he rediscovers the comforts of the wide-open cornfields, butter burgers, and manicured lawns, but also the suffocating conformity and streaks of bigotry that drove him away in the first place. And his new house may or may not be haunted by a ghost cat.
After a transformative romance and crushing breakup with a Christian Mingle date, Carter finds himself lost and alone. Adrift in a world of melting ice and muddy fields, he must grapple with his beliefs about domesticity and his true desires, as well as finally confront the ghost cat that keeps knocking his Tupperware off the counter.
An equally funny and tender story of homecoming told through precise, compelling prose, Knee High is a masterful exploration of yearning, nostalgia, and what it means to belong.

Ew, no. Not in any part of the writing or editing process, nor in any art or promotional materials. Everything you see here was made by an actual human.
To quote writer Neil Renic, who posted on that site we used to call Twitter: “I refuse to let AI take away the hard earned joy of failing to write for 4 hours, going for a little walk, then failing to write for another 4 hours.”
